About Us Our Beginnings

Founded in 2009 by directors Lee Hewson and Simon Cox, Your IT Department was created with a clear and straightforward vision. Lee and Simon aimed to offer more than the standard IT support service; they envisioned a support service that would focus on the unique needs of local businesses, delivering high-quality IT solutions that extend beyond mere computer repairs and hardware provision.

“From day one we wanted to provide more than an IT helpdesk. The name came about as we wanted to be our clients whole IT Department. This meant more than fixing things. It meant understanding the business and working with them to ensure the technology helps get the business where it wants to be” explains Simon.

Early Beginnings and Expansion

Before “Managed Service Provider” became a buzzword in the UK, Your IT was already leading the charge. We began in Nottingham’s Mercury House, led by founders Lee Hewson and Simon Cox, and quickly grew.

By 2010, we hired our first employee and started a period of rapid expansion. The company didn’t stop at Nottingham; it soon branched out to Loughborough, Leicester, and Sheffield, hiring more skilled engineers to meet the growing demand for their cost-effective, customer focused IT support solutions

International Recognition and Achievements

In 2018, Your IT earned a spot on the prestigious MSP 501 list, which ranks the world’s top managed service providers. This recognition placed Your IT among the elite, and since then Your IT has consistently appeared in the top 100 globally and within the top five in the UK.
